Since summer break started, I'm getting back into reading some of my old favorite books. I loved "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Crime and Punishment" when I first read them. I'm wondering what other books people are interested in. Maybe I can add them to my summer list... Smiling

I am so pleased to hear that someone else likes "Crime and Punishment"! Smiling It is not an easy book to read, but there is such depth there...

I like British classics. Charles d**kens, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte. Most of them are made into movies, and I like finding and seeing a movie after I've read the book.

Oh, that's excellent! "Crime and Punishment" is pretty dense, but it's worth the challenge.

It's funny you say that; I feel like most movies released recently are based upon books. As much as I love movies, I'd rather read the book first.

I usually likw a good crime or thriller but I was pleasantly surprised by the last book I read which is a classic. If you have never read The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins I can certainñy reccommend it. It's a fantastic read.

Isn't it a special adventure to watch a movie based on a book you have recently read? You are going to see those you've read about, see whether they "match" your mental picture of them. Of course, a poorly done movie can be disappointing, but it you come across an excellent adaptation, it is such a treat!

I really liked Hannibal from Thomas Harris. I also loved The Havana Room by Colin Harrison, which I bought as an impulse.

I love many by Stephen King, especially his earlier stories like The Dead Zone and It.

I have a book I'm looking forward to reading about Loch Ness, but the title escapes me at the moment.

I am not much of a reader but recently after much persuasion by a friend I started Da Vinci Code which I loved so much that I read all the other three books (Deception Point, Angels & Demons & Digital Fortress) of the author. Definitely worth reading.

I still read the Harry Potter books, even though I believe I finished the entire series, 1-7, about 4 times already.

I like the Series of Unfortunant Events by Lemony Snickets as well, and I have a fondness for Goosebumps. I know they're cheesy, but I can read one Goosebumps right after the other.

I'm currently in the middle of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, the original. Not abridged or anything; full original.

Catch 22. Is a really funny book, if you have not read this then you certainly should pick up a copy from your local book store or library.

Oh dear, double post! lol

I'm currently nearly done with Harry Potter, just gotta get book 7! Gah!!!

I enjoyed a cute series called Slayers. It was a Japanese novel series translated into English, in which a popular anime was based off of. The books are hilarious. Smiling You should totally pick them up if you like adventure and a plentiful amount of comedy.
