The only camping places I'm familiar with are in California, so I'm not sure how helpful this would be for you. But a campsite I really like is at Clearlake State Park. Nice lake, nice scenery, great weather.

New Jersey also has some places to camp. You can find it if you google it. They have alot of parks near the beach, in Southern New Jersey. I used to go to Cheesequake Park, and it was a great time.

How far are you willing to go? Couple of years back I had been to Indian Himalayas and that's the best place I've ever camped.

New Jersey has some nice beaches and camping places. You can check out South Jersey. Belmar and Point Pleasant are my favorite beaches. Keansburg is nice for kids, and it is also down South. They have a huge pool for adults and kids with a slide, food, shops, games, a boardwalk, and a beach.
